First off - you know the drill, the content of this message board does not necessarily represent the views and opinions of the staff of The Review or Saint Vincent College yada yada yada.

To maintain a quality and sophisticated level of posting to best enhance the member’s experience, we have a few simple rules to follow. Please take a few moments before posting to read and review our guidelines. Keep in mind that the administration is not out to control members and does not want, in any way, shape or form, to bear a burden on visitors. Simply follow these simple guidelines (all based on common sense—at least as far as we can tell ) and you’ll have a great time here.

What's Not Allowed: The don'ts of the forum…

Spam – Useless/numerous interjections in forum discussions. Spam degrades the quality of discussion and information shared on Internet forums for all members. Spam is a general term that essentially refers to all of the “don’ts” covered on this list. For obvious reasons, some infractions are more serious than others.

Cursing/Swearing – Use of inappropriate language is not allowed. Please consider the fact the forums are live worldwide. Implied cursing (use of asterisks or other symbols to cover up certain letters in curse words, or abbreviated cursing) is not permitted either, as the meaning remains the same.

Flaming – The term “flaming” refers to the act of being excessively disagreeable or hostile in a discussion, usually in response to an opinion, situation or issue that sparks debate. Choose your words wisely when posting. Whether or not it is your intention, it can be very easy to unnecessarily offend other members if words are chosen carelessly.

Illegal Behavior – Any illegal behavior or reference to such behavior in general will result in immediate banning and notification of the proper authorities (isn't legal stuff fun?).

Pornographic Material – The posting of (or reference to) sexually suggestive or explicit images or text in any way, shape or form, is not allowed.

Privacy Infringement – Publically posting personal or private information about other members or people without their permission is not permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, private images, correspondence from private instant message conversations, private forums or private e-mails

Warez/Cracked Software - Any posts or messages pertaining to the selling, purchase or ownership of cracked or stolen software/materials can and will result in immediate banning. This includes any reference to such software/items that you may own (again, fun legal stuff).

Yelling/Over-Punctuating - Use of all capital letters in posted text is not permitted. Internet users have designated capital text as “yelling” and is therefore inappropriate and rude in most cases.

Trolling – Forum Attack – Trolling includes, but is not limited to: unwarranted spam, vulgarity, flaming, yelling, deliberate attacks on specific members and groups or use of harmful programs and viruses in an attempt to cease forum technical functions. Most trolls simply want attention and the staff will not tolerate such behavior.

Consequences/Member Action Failure to comply with the rules…

Consequences of Illegal Behavior – Any illegal behavior or reference to such behavior in general will result in immediate banning and notification of the proper authorities.

Reporting Posts - Members may report offensive posts to the staff.
